Synopsis

With Arts for Everyone, the Faculty of Arts at Saint Mary’s University is opening our doors to the community. Members of the public are invited to attend a selection of courses on a drop-in basis. On this page you can explore course topics and schedules. Those who wish to engage with course material a bit more deeply (and earn a digital badge to showcase their accomplishment!) can choose to register and complete a suite of assignments. Ancient Literature Arts for everyone

This course considers a small selection of ancient texts in contemporary/English translation and adaptation. Classes will be held at Saint Mary's University, Loyola Room 274, Tuesday and Thursday,1:00pm to 2:15pm from September 5th to December 3rd.

Writing for Performance arts for everyone

An introductory, multi-disciplinary course on writing for the embodied voice: songwriting, writing for theatre, spoken-word poetry. Classes will be held at Saint Mary's University, McNally Main Room 201, Friday,10:00am to 1:00pm, from Sept 6th to November 29th.

Beckett and the Idea of Zionism

This course will study Irish modernism, liberal colonialism, fascism, and Zionism, by way of a close study of Watt and its manuscripts. Classes will be held at Saint Mary's University, McNally Main, Room 223, Fridays,1:00pm to 3:30pm. Starting September 6th to November 29th.
