Synopsis
Why is 'Northern Ireland' troubling?Course Overview
We will pose (and answer) the question: why is 'Northern Ireland' troubling? What were the 'Troubles', and are they over? What does 'the North' tell us about the relationship between the state, class, and ideology? We will be joined throughout the semester by guest speakers who have played diverse roles in this troubled (and troubling) history.
