Synopsis
Restorative justice defines crime as a violation of social or interpersonal relationships, rather than a violation of an official rule or regulation.Course Overview
Students examine how restorative justice offers a wholesale shift in thinking about wrongdoing challenging the common belief that justice is best achieved through punishment and retribution.

Diane CrockerProfessor Diane Crocker is a Professor in the Department of Criminology at Saint Mary’s University. Her work explores the use of law to address social problems, particularly those that disproportionately affect women. She regularly advises government and community agencies on projects related the gender-based violence. Diane has been involved in restorative justice related projects in schools, prisons and the community. |
