Synopsis
This course excavates monstrous bodies to discover what they reveal about their creators, how they construct and police otherness, and how they serve as subversive sites of liberation from cultural norms.Course Overview
Learners will engage and apply theories from the interdisciplinary field of monster theory to analyze monsters in mythology, popular culture (particularly horror), and contemporary discourse.
